Add a Matterport Tour to Realtor.com: The Current Handoff

A Matterport tour must be delivered, shared through an accepted listing workflow, and checked on the live Realtor.com listing. Receiving the tour link does not mean it has automatically appeared on the portal. Confirm the current route through your listing system or Realtor.com’s own listing tools, then test the public result.
One important change: Matterport’s support guidance says its former Content Distribution tile syndication method ended on March 16, 2026. Plan around submitting the appropriate tour link rather than relying on that retired method. This guide was reviewed October 29, 2026.
Separate current publishing from the old partnership story
Matterport announced native tour viewing in Realtor.com’s iOS app in 2017. That explains the historical partnership headline, but it is not a current set of submission instructions. Product interfaces, distribution arrangements, and supported workflows have changed since then.
In its May 2026 publication statement, Matterport said Realtor.com was displaying customers’ tours. That supports the availability of a viewing destination; it does not mean every newly captured model will appear on every listing without further action. Keep the tour’s availability and its placement on a specific listing as separate checks.
Start with an approved, usable tour link
Open the finished tour before adding it anywhere. Confirm the correct property, the agreed coverage, and any displayed title or annotations. Use the viewing link supplied for publication, not an account-management page that requires your photographer’s login.
Ask for the version appropriate to the listing destination, including any branding requirements imposed by your MLS or brokerage. Do not remove or add URL parameters from an old online example without confirming what they do for the current workflow. Our Matterport preparation and delivery guide covers the review before this handoff.
Use the current listing workflow
Matterport’s add-on guidance distinguishes the retired Content Distribution method from posting MLS-ready links through listing channels. Start by checking the tour field and accepted URL requirements in the system that supplies your listing. Confirm whether that field is transmitted to the intended destination.
If working through Realtor.com’s own tools, use its current tour-link instructions and the account authorized to manage the listing. The precise controls can vary with the workflow, so follow the live support instructions rather than expecting a menu label copied from an older screenshot.
Keep a simple publication record: property identifier, final tour URL, where it was entered, who submitted it, and the date. If more than one person manages the listing, that record prevents a later update from silently replacing the approved link.
Check the live listing as a shopper
After the listing system has processed the update, open the public property page on a phone and computer. Find the tour entry and follow it. Confirm that the correct model loads and can be explored without an account that ordinary shoppers will not have.
If the tour is missing, separate the checks. Does the direct link work? Is the correct URL saved in the source listing? Does that source transmit the relevant field? Has the portal finished processing the change? Contact the appropriate listing or platform support with the property identifier and URL rather than repeatedly replacing a working tour.
Keep the link available for the marketing period
Agree who is responsible for hosting and who will request changes or removal. A listing can continue to point to a tour after access has changed, so recheck the link before using it in a new campaign and when the property’s status changes.
For a new capture, choose the tour service around the property and its destinations. For an existing capture, focus on a clean, documented handoff. Neither an old partnership announcement nor a functioning direct link replaces the final check on the actual public listing.
