For a Lockhart, Texas property with distinctive architecture or older materials, plan photographs that show both the whole space and the details that explain it. A gallery should make a house understandable before drawing attention to a mantel, stair, window or finish.

Austin 360’s real estate photography service is the starting point for listing stills. Check current package pricing, then provide the address, priority features and access requirements to confirm coverage, travel and any additional tour, aerial or film scope.

Use local history as context, then verify the property

The Texas Historical Commission records the Caldwell County Courthouse Historic District in Lockhart. That designation describes a documented district; it does not establish that every Lockhart listing is historic or that a particular interior feature is original.

Use property records or other reliable documentation before calling a window, floor or fireplace original. Where the history is unknown, describe what can be observed, such as wood flooring or a tiled surround. Keep any downtown or civic-landmark photograph clearly separate from the property sequence.

Photograph the feature in its room first

Consider this hypothetical brief for a home with documented original millwork. Start with the full facade and entrance. Inside, show the room containing the millwork, including its doors and relationship to adjacent space. Then make a closer photograph that reveals the profile and material.

The wider image tells the buyer where the feature belongs; the closer image explains why it deserves attention. Use the same sequence for a staircase, built-in cabinet or unusual window arrangement. Detail photographs should add information without displacing the main rooms, bathrooms and outdoor areas a buyer needs to see.

Prepare a materials and access brief

Identify the surfaces whose color and texture matter: painted trim, stained wood, tile, brick or stone. Note reflective glass, deep window recesses and any rooms with different lighting conditions. Ask for a natural representation that preserves those differences instead of making every surface equally bright.

Before the appointment, clear the area around important features and remove distracting personal items. Identify occupied rooms, fragile objects and anything that must not be moved. Arrange access to the sides of the building when exterior details need documenting. Photography and editing should not conceal permanent condition issues or imply restoration work that has not occurred.

Match additional media to the actual layout

An unusual sequence of rooms may benefit from a Matterport tour, allowing viewers to explore the connections after reviewing the still gallery. Supply the intended scan area and any privacy exclusions; confirm how detached spaces, if requested, will be handled.

An aerial may help explain an approach or wider grounds, subject to feasibility at the address. A property film can follow a chosen route and feature the home in movement. Each should have an agreed purpose and scope rather than being assumed necessary because a property has architectural character.

Choose the final gallery for its intended use

Select a clear opening exterior, room views, meaningful details and the outdoor coverage that belongs to the home. When reviewing a portfolio, look for convincing color and straight architectural lines across a full set, not simply dramatic isolated images.

Tell the photographer how the gallery will be used in MLS, print and on the property website. Confirm file specifications, usage rights, delivery date and special-edit requests in the quote. Include a request for additional capture time or a separately scheduled exterior only when the property brief calls for it.
